Banner advertisements on Sellit-Here Online AuctionsTM are sold by quantity (ie. 10000 banners) or duration (ie. 2 months) purchases.
All banners rotate on pages together with other advertiser's banners until the quantity of impressions purchased have been met, or the number of months purchased have passed. Advertisements can either rotate throughout all of our sites and web pages or can be targetted to specific web pages on any of our sites.
Any person that clicks on your banner advertisement will have their browser directed straight to your web page, without any messages from us. If you do not have a web site, any person that clicks on your banner advertisement will be sent to a simple page with your company name, address, phone number and email (if available). Your company can have as many advertisements running at any given
time as you want. All advertisements are tracked separately by our
system. Advertisements are based on the URL you wish to have the
potential customer directed to. You can have more than one
advertisement at a time going to the same URL, for example, one
targetted advertisement and one that displays on random pages
throughout our sites. You can have multiple banner ads for the
each advertisement at no additional cost. Your banner ad(s) must be
in GIF format, with dimensions of 468x60 and should be less
than 12K in size. If you need help designing a banner or just want a
more professional looking advertisement we have graphic artists
available to help you for a reasonable price. (Don't look at our
banners, I did them myself ).
Our banner software has been designed to use a network object called a cookie. Our cookie contains a random number that represents a visitor to our system. We can not know anything about a visitor except for this number (unless they were to tell us about themselves). This number is used to help prevent a banner from being displayed to the same visitor too frequently. The way we acheive this goal is to keep track of which advertisements have already been sent to a visitor and randomly pick a new one from the list of current advertisements that they have not seen yet. After a visitor has seen all of our available ads, we clear their list and start to repeat. This means that the visitor should not see any of your banners for the same advertisement again until they have seen a banner for all of the advertisements we are displaying at the time. After they have seen all of our available banners, we clear their list and start to repeat. This means that the visitor should not see your banner again until the have seen all of the banners that we are currently displaying. By doing this, we hope to give your banners the widest possible target market, instead of wasting banners by displaying them over and over to the same visitor. This also means that if a visitor has cookies turned off in their browser, or deletes our cookie from their computer, that they are likely to see some duplication.
